Tranoï Names Boris Provost As President

PARIS — Boris Provost, a communications veteran, has been named president of the French fashion trade show Tranoï, as organizers seek to reposition the event amid sweeping changes in the industry.
Provost takes over from Philippe Rougale, who held the position on an interim basis following the departure of David Hadida in May.
Provost, an events management professional who served as public relations officer for nightclubs and in the fashion industry, recently managed the EquipHotel trade show, later moving on to head the hospitality and food division for Reed Expositions France.
The executive will oversee Tranoï’s September show. He will work with a management committee including Laura Marchal, Diane Lepel Cointet and Marco Pili, with support from Armand Hadida, founder of retail chain L’Eclaireur and David Hadida’s father, who will stay on as artistic director as he continues to hand over management of the trade show.
They plan to focus on a selective offer while developing services and bolstering the trade show’s presence abroad, particularly in China, according to a statement from the organization. Its second edition in Shanghai is scheduled for Oct. 10 to 13, with Chinese partners DFO International and OnTimeShow.
