Change is coming to the top of Nike Inc.
Mark Parker will become executive chairman of the company and hand the titles of president and chief executive officer to John J. Donahoe 2nd, a member of the company’s board.
The change takes effect Jan. 13.
Donahoe, 59, has been a director at Nike since June 2014 and is currently president and ceo of ServiceNow, Inc., a post he’s had since 2017. Before that, he lead eBay Inc. from 2008 to 2015.
“This is an exciting time for Nike where we see brand strength and momentum throughout the world and great opportunity for future growth,” Parker said. “I am delighted John will join our team. His expertise in digital commerce, technology, global strategy and leadership combined with his strong relationship with the brand, make him ideally suited to accelerate our digital transformation and to build on the positive impact of our Consumer Direct Offense.
