MILAN — Following the flood in Venice earlier this month that damaged heritage sites, storied hotels and stores, Bottega Veneta has decided to help safeguard one of the city’s most famous landmarks.
Teaming up with non-for-profit organization Venetian Heritage, the Italian luxury label will support the restoration of the mosaic floors and the multi-color marble walls of St. Mark’s Basilica.
Until Dec. 29 at the brand’s Italian boutiques and Italian e-store, 30 percent of proceeds from the sale of four bag styles — BV Classic, Marie, BV Angle and Arco — will be destined for restoration works of the world-famous cathedral.
